6 spaces available
Join us for a paddle through one of the most scenic routes in the vast Boundary Waters Canoe Area in northern Minnesota. This will be an intermediate loop trip with incredible scenery including ancient pictographs on towering cliffs and numerous waterfalls. One of our layover day campsites will be located on a lake with 3 sets of falls. Local wildlife include moose, otter, beavers, eagles, and more.
Plan to drive up Sunday June 13th and meet at the designated lodge around 5 pm. We will bunk the first night indoors and go over gear. In the morning, we head on down to the put in. There is a local shop that can provide any last minute items such as snacks, gear, fishing licenses, bait, batteries, etc.
This is a loop trip with 4 long paddle days and 2 layover days (the itinerary may change due to weather. We will paddle and portage over 50 miles in remote wilderness. There will be time to kick back and relax too! If you plan to fish, we will be in some prime waters for walleye, lake trout, northern pike and bass. There are lots of places to explore such as waterfalls, artifacts from the old logging days, and ancient Native American pictographs. We will take out on day 7 and spend the last night camping under the stars before heading home in the morning Aug 24th.
Menu items during the trip include camp favorites like French toast, BBQ pork spaghetti, apple crisp and more. There will be tea and coffee in the morning and happy hour in the afternoon! We will accommodate special diets as needed. Of course we can eat as much fish as we like!
